‘The BIFM is to roll out a new, more direct route to become a Fellow of the institute in a move that the institute says will encourage the profession’s more experienced individuals to apply.
Eight BIFM members have recently successfully applied to become a Fellow of the institute as part of a pilot scheme of the new programme.
Previously, FM professionals were only able to apply if they had moved up through the BIFM membership grades. But the new scheme means those who can demonstrate sufficient levels of expertise and experience can apply, regardless of what professional qualifications or membership grades they hold.
Lee Grant, BIFM’s head of service and community development, said: “We know there are many well-respected, influential FM professionals working within the sector who may not have previously considered becoming a BIFM Fellow but who could bring a wealth of knowledge, skills and experience to the Institute and profession.”’ – FM World
