Nicky Morgan rejects compulsory sex education.

‘England's education secretary has rejected MPs' calls to make sex-and-relationship education compulsory in all schools, infuriating campaigners.

Four key House of Commons committees wrote to Nicky Morgan last month, pressing for sex education to be made statutory in primaries and secondaries.

‘Deborah Gold, chief executive of the National AIDS Trust, said a third of young gay and bisexual men do not receive information about how HIV is passed on - despite the number of young men being diagnosed with the infection doubling in the past 10 years.

"The government seems willing to continue to allow a situation where some schools simply don’t have to discuss these topics beyond basic information in a science lesson," Gold said. "We are extremely disappointed."’ – Huffington Post
