The Manchester College is a large and nationally significant further education provider. As the number one provider of 16–19 and adult education in Greater Manchester, it is a major education and skills player in the region. Our campuses are spread throughout the city, serving diverse local communities.
The College has undergone a major restructure since our strategic review of 2013, and is eminently equipped to turn current sector challenges to the advantage of our learners and customers. Recent developments have included the opening of our Centre of Excellence for Medical Sciences, offering adult Access to Higher Education courses designed to close regional higher-level skills gaps and blaze the trail for further Centres of Excellence in the health sector. Quality, employment-focused qualifications are complemented by our dedicated and structured approach to learners’ experience of college life. Young people and adults can take advantage of the breadth of The Manchester College’s offer to progress within the College, right through to degree and university-level courses in many subject areas.
Our size, scope and geographic spread enables The Manchester College to operate at the heart of Greater Manchester life as a thought-leader on key regional issues, in particular those stemming from devolution of skills and the reshaping of further education from 2017.
