The Spotlight Awards

Celebrating colleagues across LTE Group

The spotlight is firmly on LTE Group colleagues following the introduction of the organisation’s brand-new quarterly awards.

June 2021 saw the successful conclusion of the first quarter of LTE Group’s brand-new colleague awards.

The Spotlight Awards were created in response to colleague feedback shared through engagement surveys.  Colleagues highlighted that now, more than ever, it’s important to recognise the incredible work that takes place across LTE Group to support the colleagues, learners, partners and communities the organisation collectively serves.

The awards were incredibly well supported with colleagues nominating their peers over 560 times across six categories.

Building on the success of LTE Group’s annual Outstanding Achievement Awards, the quarterly awards bring a fresh approach to recognition and the categories are a little different to a typical colleague awards programme.  The six categories (Best Supporting ActTop MarksBright IdeasShining StarWhere would I be without you? and Dream Team) reflect everything that is great about LTE Group and are aligned to the organisation’s values.

Jane O’Connell, LTE Group’s Head of Performance and Pensions, leads the team working on the initiative and said: “The awards represent our Group’s commitment to our colleagues’ wellbeing, and demonstrate our appreciation for all they do.  They are another opportunity to recognise the contributions our colleagues make every day to the learning experience of almost 95,000 learners.

“We work with amazing colleagues, and we’re always looking for new ways to celebrate their achievements and give them a voice.  We also wanted to respond to our colleagues’ feedback in real time and provide a fresh, engaging way of recognising the remarkable work that takes place day in, day out, across our organisation.

“We worked with colleagues at all levels to develop six new categories and a user-friendly nomination portal, which we opened for the first time in April.  To make sure we recognise the variety of delivery and support roles across our Group, we made two of the categories exclusive to teaching and non-teaching colleagues.

“In June, we announced the winners of our first quarter with a fanfare from our Group’s Chief Executive Officer, John Thornhill, and I can’t wait to showcase the achievements of even more colleagues in September.”
