LTE Group project team ‘highly commended' in prestigious national awards

LTE Group IT and Finance teams were highly commended at the WPM Annual Conference and Awards Ceremony

LTE Group IT and Finance teams were highly commended in the 'Innovation & Effectiveness in Online Payments Award’ category at the WPM Annual Conference and Awards Ceremony on Wednesday 5 February, at The Grove Hotel in Hertfordshire.

The category recognises an institution that is an outstanding example of the use of online payments in the HE/FE sector. All of the institutions considered for this award were able to demonstrate how innovative and effective use of online payments resulted in clear benefits.

The project team won the commendation for their payment gateway, which offers students from The Manchester College and UCEN Manchester flexible payment plans for their tuition fees. The development of the WPM has improved efficiency and effectiveness while improving the learner experience.

The project was led by LTE Group colleagues Darren Hamlin, Head of Business Intelligence and Development, and Andrew MacDonald, Income and Credit Control Manager.

This is the second successive year that a project team consisting of colleagues from LTE Group IT and Finance teams has been successful at the WPM awards. In 2019, LTE Group's new student payment platform secured the 'Best Newcomer Award'.

Rob Cressey, LTE Group Chief Financial Officer, said: “This is a fantastic achievement for all the colleagues involved, it is great example of the collaborative approach that is fundamental to our success as an organisation. It also stands as a great example of the innovative work that is taking place across all business units within LTE Group.”
