Technical and Professional Education – the future - Technical and professional education gets an end-of -year appraisal by Lisa O’Loughlin, Principal, The Manchester College The Manchester College Principal Lisa O’Loughlin gives technical and professional education an end-of -year appraisal Further Education, and especially technical and professional education (TPE), is rarely out of the news and political debate these days.

The project team won the commendation for their payment gateway, which offers students from The Manchester College and UCEN Manchester flexible payment plans for their tuition fees. The development of the WPM has improved efficiency and effectiveness while improving the learner experience.

Total People was one of nine organisations shortlisted for the award, which recognised skills providers and colleges delivering significant skills training in Greater Manchester. The award also sought to showcase an organisation with a proven track record of effectively engaging businesses to identify skills needs and delivering workforce training with real business benefits.

Following her apprenticeship, Sam is now employed by Laing O’Rourke on the School and College Leavers Programme, studying Construction Management part-time at the University of Salford. She has been placed on the Manchester Airport Transformation project.
