Pride 2022 - exclusively inclusive

Manchester Pride Festival 2022

Manchester Pride Festival returns this year with its first in-person event since 2019 and LTE Group is proud to stand with the LGBTQ+ community in celebrating diversity and equality for all.

The Festival takes place from Thursday 26 to Monday 29 August, with the Manchester Pride Parade taking to the streets on Saturday 27 August.

Colleagues from across LTE Group are once again preparing to take part in the parade. The theme this year is ‘March for Peace’, highlighting the importance of a world where all LGBTQ+ people are free to live and love without prejudice.

The Manchester College and UCEN Manchester will be represented by colleagues in the walking parade, with talented students from their creative subject areas providing hair, make-up, face painting and costume services.

Marie Stock, Vice Principal – Student Support and Experience, said: “It’s great to see the return of the Parade, enabling our colleagues and students to take part and show our support for the LGBTQ+ community.

“‘March for Peace’ is a powerful message that The Manchester College and UCEN Manchester fully stand behind. We hope everyone enjoys the weekend’s activities.”

Novus colleagues will be joining Pride in Prison & Probation (PiPP) for the walking parade, where they will be showcasing work produced by Novus learners around the ‘March for Peace’ theme.

The art project, in partnership with PiPP and LGBT forums, was open across the North West and explored people’s responses as to what ‘March for Peace’ mean for them, enabling thoughts and contributions to be incorporated.

Sarah Hartley, Novus National Lead for Creative Strategies said: “We’re excited to be returning to Manchester Pride after two years. There are some high quality, imitative pieces which we are proud to showcase at the march.

“Over the years, working in this way and contributing to Pride has enabled conversations within the prison setting, which has helped to dispel negative stereotypes and personal biases about different groups, and has supported greater understanding around cultural diversity and respect.”

Melanie Nicholson, Managing Director of Total People and MOL added: Melanie Nicholson, Managing Director of Total People and MOL added: “It will be fantastic to see the Pride Parade return to the streets of Manchester, and I hope everybody taking part in the festival has a wonderful weekend.

“Everyone at Total People and MOL fully supports the message behind this year’s March for Peace and we continue to strive for a world where all people can live their lives free from prejudice and discrimination.”

Everyone at LTE Group would like to wish everyone celebrating a safe and joyful Pride.
