City College Manchester begins providing quality education and training at HMP Manchester.   2001 Apprenticeship provider Total People is founded. Initially working in Cheshire, it soon begins offering apprenticeships and work-based learning across the Northwest.   2015 To give a renewed focus to apprenticeships independent training provider Total People is acquired by The Manchester College.

Total People are passionate about providing opportunities to people from all backgrounds and help over 6,000 learners get new apprenticeships each year, in diverse industries. 

For instance, research by Mckinsey has shown that despite women making up 39% of the global workforce, they account for 54% of total job losses during the pandemic [i] . Furthermore, in the UK there has been a 79% increase in the number of women being made redundant during the pandemic [ii] .
